The Information Technology Exposition in Miami places one in information overload. It is a full week learning about all things related to Information Technology. There were participants from all over the world and we were thrilled to be a part of it all!
The Conference was targeted towards everyone in Information Technology. There were several tracts of knowledge training. Vistanet concentrated on Managed Services and the Workplace of the Future. We also got to learn about all the new products coming down the pike in the IT world.
We came away with some great new tools to support work-from-home employees and to make sure that your business for the remote employee remains secure. We also have a great new tool for home-based businesses that need failover protection. Some examples of these businesses would be a home-based counselor, accountant, or small retail business.
BREAKOUT SESSION DISCUSSION
Our very own Andrea Robel of Vistanet spoke on a panel with 2 other men, she was the only woman in the room of 50+ people, addressing MSP + PBX system providers. The topic was additional revenue streams for MSPs. But the caution to MSPs is to beware of regulatory controls. Some MSPs are providing phone service and do not understand all the requirements and federal regulations that are tied to these services, including HIPAA requirements if the MSP is serving a medical office or a supplier to a medical office. MSPs that do not fully understand telephone, are really doing a disservice to themselves because customers get frustrated with their phone service that was recommended by their MSP and end up switching phone providers and dropping their MSP. Credibility is key in this industry.
FUTURISTIC TOOLS
Greg and Andrea Robel also handled some of the latest tech tools such as a 3D hologram graphic imaging being used mainly by medical professionals to help diagnose invisible disease processes and other problems happening in the human body. We also saw this same application used in architecture and interior design. WOW!
RECONNECTED WITH OUR VENDORS
This was a chance to reconnect with some of our vendors. They really help support us with products to support our clients’ needs. We had a chance to discuss several needs and come up with some out-of-the-box solutions for our clients.

Vistanet learned how to help local businesses grow by using better technology and innovative tools.
Our Takeaway from the conference is that we are truly cutting edge and way above the curve as to what other service providers are doing. What they are teaching now because of lessons from COVID is what we have been doing since we started 10 years ago.
